Spring 3 + Hibernate 4 Lazy Intialize collections

В hibernate есть очень удобная вещь - Lazy Collections. Они позволяют вам описывать логику взаимосвязей объектов и не думать о лишней нагрузке на базу в том случае если вам не понадобится эта коллекция, а она всё равно загрузится при создании объекта.

В spring использование Lazy Collections связанна с одной трудностью: получение такой коллекции из jsp может привести к ошибке: Failed to lazily initialize a collection

К примеру есть класс Cat.java:

Для него в jsp есть вызов ${cat.kittens}

Чтобы это работало необходимо использовать OpenSessionInViewFilter, который открывает сессию повторно при обработке .jsp файлов. При использовании OpenSessionInViewFilter  может возникнуть другая неожиданная ошибка:

"... no session or session was closed ..."

Эта ошибка связана с неправильным конфигурированием файла spring-servlet.xml. Очень часто в примерах доступ к sessionFactory прописывается именно в spring-servlet.xml. В этом случае будет создано две различные фабрики: первая для DispatcherServlet, вторая для OpenSessionInViewFilter что и вызывает указанную выше ошибку.

Чтобы этого избежать необходимо отделить описание объектов для приложения в файле spring-app.xml, а объекты для веб-представления в spring-servlet.xml

Ниже приведена рабочая конфигурация всех файлов для Spring 3, Hibernate 4, MySql 5
